The USO Pathfinder LinkedIn lecture helped me realize that there was much more to the platform than showcasing degrees, talent, and experience. Learning how to build connections with professionals in the industry I was pursuing help me land my dream job. My profile went from 1-2 views a week to over 40…by recruiters and talent managers! The additional exposure, adding in relevant skills from job postings, and utilizing LinkedIn Premium features gave my profile the extra boost it needed and and advantage over other candidates who applied for the same job. Luckily for me, I had already connected to the hiring manager who reviewed my application on LinkedIn. It was something as simple as chatting about the best way for her to reach more transitioning service members that made my name stand out in the stack of applications. Within a week of using the tactics Michael taught our group, I had a job offer for a high-paying job in Washington, D.C. This class offers a competitive edge that the mandatory transition classes just don’t have.
