    Mobile Unit Coordinator (Central Region) Dallas, Tx

     

    This a great opportunity to enjoy the open road while supporting the USO mission. The Mobile USO program is designed to bring a “home away from home” directly to service members stationed in remote and isolated areas throughout the United States. Position based in the Dallas Texas region.

    Responsibilities for this critical role include, but are not limited to preparing a travel schedule and driving the Mobile USO to and from events; coordinating necessary maintenance and vehicle repairs; handling inventory; assisting the Mobile Unit Manager with events, i.e. preparing ready to eat meals, setting up tables, preparing electronics, serving food and beverages; preparing, tracking and submitting expense records; cleaning vehicle prior to all events; assisting Mobile Unit Manager with event clean up; and serving as relief for Mobile Unit Manager, as necessary.

    This position requires a flexible, energetic, organized individual who is mechanically inclined and who has excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills. Strong time-management and computer skills are also required. As part of a three-member road team, the ideal candidates will have a minimum of three years experience operating a commercial vehicle, a CDL, the ability to travel up to 75% of the time is essential, cross country driving experience and familiarity with DOT regulations strongly preferred. Previous military experience helpful. Drug free, clean driving records, and if not a CDL holder, ability to obtain a Class A or B CDL required.

    Mobile USO Manager (USO of Metropolitan Washington, DC)

     

    The USO of Metropolitan Washington (DC) is currently recruiting for the position of Mobile USO Manager.
    The Mobile USO Manager will bring signature USO service directly to service members stationed throughout the Northern Virginia, Maryland and District of Columbia region. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to developing and implementing a schedule of quality programs, events and activities involving the mobile unit with military commands and the wider community; providing assistance and support to military homecomings, deployments, training exercises, air shows, marathons, etc.; developing, training and scheduling a volunteer corps to work with the program; and maintaining and driving the vehicle. The Mobile USO Manager reports to the Chief Operating Officer of USO-Metro.

    The position requires a four-year degree with emphasis on marketing, public relations or recreation or 5 years of related experience in a nonprofit environment.     President & CEO (USO San Diego)

     

    USO Council of San Diego, a non-profit organization serving active duty military members and their families, is actively seeking an individual to fill the position of President and CEO. The applicant will plan, organize, and direct USO operations to provide quality programs and services to service personnel and their families within a financially responsible environment, in accordance with relevant policies and overall directives of the Board of Directors. Incubant will report to the Board Chair.

    Major Responsibilities: Include, but are not limited to planning and execution of USO San Diego’s programs and activities, to include operations of the USO Center San Diego and the Neil Ash USO Center located at the San Diego International Airport; conduct periodic review of services to insure that they meet the needs of our service members and their families; management of all employees to include recruitment, training, supervision, and appraisal, in accordance with World Headquarters (WHQ) HR Policies; develop financial resources through budgeting, grant/local support, fundraising events, etc. as appropriate; conduct regular financial review and analysis. Prepare and submit consolidated financial, operational and statistical reports as required by WHQ; use the resources of the WHQ Development Department for support, along with direction from the Board of Directors for whom fundraising is a key responsibility; recruit and develop donors, and in-kind support for programs and services, establish long-term partnerships with local donors and sponsors; exercise prudent management of all funds raised; work with WHQ to ensure local commitments to partner-donor and sponsors and appropriate recognition/access to USO clientele are met and are in line with Development standards and procedures.

    Work with the USO Council of San Diego Board of Directors in developing a team approach to USO plans, programs, and fundraising activities. Recruit and maintain a local USO volunteer corps to assist with USO center administration, delivery of services, activities and special events.

    Requirements:
    - College Degree;
    - 10 years of general administrative and supervisory experience with progressively increasing responsibility to include motivating and training employees;
    - Strong communication skills including writing and public speaking;
    - Expertise in managing budgets and fundraising data.
    - Computer literacy essential;
    - Knowledge of the military and understanding their needs;
    - Significant non profit experience in all forms of fundraising, proven experience in identifying, cultivating and soliciting major donors and leadership in major capital campaigns, and
    - Experience in the San Diego non-profit community is desired but not a requirement.

    Outreach Program Coordinator (USO of Metropolitan Washington, DC)

    The Outreach Program Coordinator assists the Outreach Manager in developing and implementing unique programs, services and events that serve a wide range of needs for service members and their families in the Metropolitan Washington, DC region.     The Development Specialist assists with the day-to-day operations of the development department.     Chief Development Officer (Times Square, NY)

     

    The Chief Development Officer will report directly to the President/CEO.

    The Chief Development Officer will be responsible for directing all fundraising activities for the purpose of successfully executing all USO programs and services; set priorities, manage multiple projects, generate local strategies and targets and supervise the field based fundraising staff; identify and cultivate “high capacity” donors and sponsors; provide direction to field based major and planned giving programs; develop, deploy and lead a comprehensive fundraising enterprise that significantly increases the breadth and impact of fundraising performance, which maintains the highest ethical standards for fundraising, and supports all USO operational programs.

    Key Responsibilities
    - Plan, develop, execute, and direct all phases of fundraising programs.
    - Develop and oversee all development initiatives, including but not limited to Major Gifts, Corporate Sponsorships and Support, Individual Giving, Foundation and Government Grants, Annual Giving, Board Giving, Prospect Management, and Special Events.
    - Establish annual fundraising revenue targets together with fundraising team and operations staff.
    - Develop strategic short and long-term fundraising plans and goals and opportunities for the organization and execute their implementation.

    Requirements: A Bachelor’s degree, with postgraduate degree preferred; professional Certification in fundraising or a related field; 5 to 10 years of progressive responsibility for fundraising in individual, foundation and corporate giving arenas; solid knowledge of IRS and Better Business Standards for Charitable Fundraising; progressive supervisory experience; excellent written and verbal communication skills; excellent team building skills and personal maturity; awareness of gift planning tools; ability to travel in the tri-state area.

    The USO San Diego, California is actively recruiting for a full time Director of Development to develop and implement fundraising goals and strategies, conduct major gift solicitations, secure corporate underwriting, initiate annual giving campaign and provide oversight to scholarship program, foundation grant writing, special events, and related program development activities.

    Requirements:

    A minimum of 3 to 5 years experience in a Director of Development role along with demonstrated ability to achieve goals is a must. Corporate and foundation experience preferred.     Mobile Program Manager, Virginia Beach VA

     

    USO, a non-profit organization serving military members and their families, is recruiting for the Mobile Program Manager. This position is located in Virginia Beach, VA. The Mobile USO program is designed to bring a “home away from home” directly to service members stationed in remote and isolated areas throughout the United States. These vehicles offer a comfortable place where service men and women can relax, have a snack, watch a movie or connect online with family and friends during their downtime.

    The broad range of responsibilities for the Mobile Program Manager include, but are not limited to researching events within the states of the designated Mobile GSA; building the circuit schedule for each regional mobile; coordinating with each Mobile Unit Manager and Coordinator any changes within the schedule; arranging any necessary travel and hotel arrangements to and from events for Mobile Unit Manager and Coordinator; monitor program delivery, including all Department of Transportation Regulations; critically review program and service for improvement; pitching events to military command, community organizations, etc., in coordination with Mobile Unit Manager.

    Our ideal candidate will be a professional, self-starter and team player with five years program management experience; three years supervisory experience; Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) or ability to obtain; experience in event coordination; excellent time management and organizational skills; strong written, public speaking, communication, and interpersonal skills; proficiency in MS Office Suite; prior non-profit related experience including program development and implementation a plus; and flexibility to travel, as needed. A Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.
