On October 7, 2009, the USO will hold its annual USO Gala in Washington, D.C. This star-studded event will feature well-known entertainers from USO celebrity entertainment tours and will recognize a special volunteer, as well as honorees selected by the Senior Enlisted representatives from each branch of the armed forces for their extraordinary bravery, loyalty, and heroism.
An estimated 900 guests will gather to pay special tribute to our men and women in uniform. Guests will include Washington dignitaries, Members of Congress, military leadership, celebrities, members of the USO Board of Governors, USO corporate sponsors and the media.
For over six decades, the USO (United Service Organizations) has been providing morale, welfare and recreational services to U.S. military personnel and their families. The USO is a nonprofit, charitable organization, relying on the generosity of the American people to support its programs and services.

How do I get my tickets for the reception/dinner?
There are no “tickets” for the event. Upon arrival, you will need to check in at the registration desk. You need to provide your name and or organization/company. It is very important that you confirm that your name is on our guest list.
*Note: If you are attending on behalf of a Gala sponsor, please contact them to ensure that they have submitted your name.

How do I get to the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel?
The Marriott Wardman Park Hotel is located at 2660 Woodley Road, N.W., on the corner or Connecticut Avenue and Woodley Road.
By Metro:
Exit at the Woodley Park Metro Station (Red Line).
Driving from Washington, DC / Dulles Airport:
Follow the signs to I-66 east to Washington
Follow I-66 to the Theodore Roosevelt Bridge (US Route 50)
Take the Constitution Avenue exit off of the bridge
Continue on Constitution Avenue for 6 blocks and make a left turn onto 17th Street
Continue on Connecticut Avenue for 1 mile
Cross over the William Taft Bridge
Make a left turn at the 3rd light after the bridge onto Woodley Avenue
The hotel entrance is on the left
Driving from Baltimore/BWI Airport:
Take I-95 south to I-495 west
Take Exit 33, Connecticut Avenue southbound
Continue on Connecticut Avenue for about 6.5 miles
Turn right onto Woodley Road
The hotel entrance is on the left
Driving from Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport:
Follow the signs to Washington D.C. (George Washington Parkway)
Take I-395 north to Route 1 (Route 1 is the 14th Street Bridge)
Merge to the far left lane on the bridge and follow the signs for 14th Street
Take 14th Street for 1 mile
Turn left onto K Street
Continue on K for 5 blocks
Turn right onto Connecticut Avenue
Follow Connecticut Avenue for 1 mile
Cross over the William Taft Bridge
Make a left turn at the 3rd light after the bridge onto Woodley Rd
The Hotel entrance is on left
