Brigadier General John I. Pray, Jr.

 

Senior Vice President for Entertainment

 

Brigadier General John I. Pray, Jr., joined the USO in 2009. Prior to his position as the USO’s senior vice president for entertainment, he served as the Executive Vice President for the Systems and Proposal Development Company. General Pray has more than 27 years of experience in military operations, having commanded Air Force units at the squadron, group and wing levels and having served as the director of the White House Situation Room. He retired from active duty in 2007 when selected to be the Executive Secretary of the National Security Council.

As senior vice president for entertainment, he is responsible for leading the USO’s world-famous entertainment program -- a program that lifts the spirits of hundreds of thousands of service members and their families every year.

General Pray earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the U.S. Air Force Academy, and Masters degrees from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, the School of Advanced Airpower Studies, and the Air War College. He has also completed the senior executive program at the Columbia University Graduate School of Business.
